Acting Lessons With Rachel Barrer

Acting Lessons With Rachel Barrer

In my classes, private sessions and workshops, you will find your voice and your strengths as an actor. You will learn to trust your instincts and speak through the emotion, you will learn make strong choices, to find the truth of the scene and build a character from the inside out. We do this by using relaxation and sense memory work, based on techniques developed by Lee Strasberg; as well as adding movement, vocalization and improvisation, to create a space where the actor is free to peel back the layers of the scene, be present in the moment and deliver a truth performance. I also offer a special blend of Creative Coaching for my students. ... View Profile

Sarah Deaver, Audition/Acting Coach

Sarah Deaver, Audition/Acting Coach

My main effort is to get you to the callback. Once there, the work changes and goals shift, but the initial audition is what means the most to your agent and to casting and should mean the most to you. There's no callback if you can't get past round 1. No matter the scene/script I believe that variety is the spice of life. If your scene does not have turns and shifts and opposites (ie - if your choices are not incredibly specific) then your acting will be uninteresting and you will be forgotten.  Ultimately my goal is to get you to the place where you no longer feel as though you need a coach but have the confidence and knowledge to prep ... I work individually with each student with their unique strengths and areas for growth.  I'm not only interested in their development as dramatic artists or English speakers; I'm more interested in their growths as human beings and being fuller expressive versions of themselves, which are essential to being better artistic and technical communicators.

Erik Endsley Acting Coach

In the bastardized words of Walt Whitman: "We are large, we contain multitudes." I believe that every actor needs to find what their particular voice will lend to a given project. Therefore, working on a project is not about fitting a role, but rather finding where it lives in the actor. As a perpetual student of the craft, I use my experience to guide each student to reach their own Revelations therby unlocking the artistry that already lives within them. ... View Profile
