Yuki Evans Clarinet Studio
About
I've been playing in bands in orchestras for years, most notably with the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra as principle player with which I toured places like Cuba, and the Air Force Band of the Golden West, with which I did a short tour with. Currently I study with Helen Goode-Castro at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State Long Beach, completing my undergraduate studies in Music Performance. Making music is an arduous pursuit, and it puts out only as much as you put in. I can't wait to hear and play with you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Determining skill level is a clear first step, and we'd establish that by playing through some scales, maybe reading through some music, just to get the initial jitters out and get straight to making sounds on the clarinet. From there, usually a direction of interest will become obvious.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Teaching comes hand in hand with learning. I've ran sectionals for high schoolers, and taught middle schoolers who showed interest music. Beyond that, at the conservatory my fellow clarinet players and I are always throwing around ideas and asking for suggestions. It's simply part of the craft.
