I need work on improvisation, and Paul is an outstanding teacher. My comfort level had increased greatly, particularly with the 12 bar blues, and right now were working on rhythm changes. Its a challenge, but hes getting me there!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Every student is different. First step is to assess the students level and figure out the way they learn. Then help them to reach their musical goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BS SUNY Albany with a minor in electronic music. Have a certificate in Film scoring from UCLA. Have study privately from many professional musicians.

How did you get started teaching?

People would come up to me after gigs and ask if they can have a lesson.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of students. Beginners to advance. Adults and children.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Try a lesson or two first to see if its a good fit.
