My goal is to bring each student up to their highest level, breaking typical norms set by age or grade. My approach to teaching is grounded in the belief that students need a solid music foundation in order to grow artistically. This requires focusing on the fundamentals while still making the experience engaging and fun. Drawing from musical styles including Jazz, Classical and others, I seek specific exercises that contain the scales, modes, intervallic studies and rhythmic exercises that work towards improving mobility, endurance, sound and overall technique on the instrument. I also strongly create opportunities for improvisation, which is an exciting way for students to discover their own voices and gain greater command of their instr ... View Profile
