I learned music in the 80's from Thara Memory, Greg McKelvey, Jack Quinby and Marc Wolters. I briefly attended Berklee College of Music and then went on to play trombone in the US Navy for 7 years. I made multi-instrumentalist solo recordings after the Navy. That didn't bring in any money, so I taught myself computer programming while living on the streets of Seattle. At Morningside Music Academy, we very carefully pick our instructors by finding musicians who are both highly educated and also fun, inspiring, and just simply great teachers. All of our teachers are currently pursuing a degree in music or already hold one. Most are also actively performing musicians as well. Music has been an intrinsic part of my life from a young age. I was 9 or 10 years old when my mom and dad took me to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra. As one of six children, having an evening with my parents all to myself was a special and rare experience. Going into the performance hall; seeing Eugene Ormandy conduct – all were magical happenings.
