About Rod:
In 2001 the desire to become a stronger cyclist was my motivation to try spinning. I was passionately hooked from that point on. I got certified in 2002 and subbed my first class shortly after. Spinning has improved my cardio, facilitated a speedy recovery from 2 knee surgeries and is an integral part of my training. I am now a Johnny G Star 3 instructor and still very passionate about spinning and cycling. I particularly love working with beginners to make sure that their first spinning experience is safe, exhilarating, instructional and motivational. I incorporate a variety of beat driven music including but not limited to rock, hip hop/urban, industrial, metal, old school dance, electronica, pop etc... Spinning also opened the door for me to a career as a personal trainer and certified Pilates instructor as well. I have been a fitness trainer now for over to a decade and I have helped athletes and non athletes alike achieve their individual fitness goals. Come get your sweat on with me,
Live Long And Perspire!!
I find it most rewarding when I see the look of joy on someones face when they realize how much they have grown their fitness level from the time they started with me.

I was inspired to take my first spin class soon after one of my bike riding buddies told me that spinning would help make me a stronger cyclist.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners who have never been on a spin bike or any kind of bike for that matter, as well as tri-athletes and iron men.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be make sure you find an instructor that will take the time to make sure you are set up properly on the bike to insure that you have an injury free spin experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Make sure you inform your instructor of any issues that may have a bearing on your training experience. Also ask about equipment that may be available to enhance your ride thus giving you a better, more productive ride.
