I have solid and extensive experience in teaching instrument technique, improvisation, and sight reading. I've been teaching since 2012, ranging from beginners all the way to highly advanced levels, with focus either on jazz or classical music. I've worked as a freelance musician in a multitude of genres all over the world, and taught both privately and at several universities. Many of my students are now working musicians in their own right.

1) We play something together to get an idea of the level and ability of the student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
2016 – 2017
Lecturer of Jazz Trombone at University of Texas, Arlington TX.
Teaching duties included private lessons in jazz trombone, brass pedagogy for education majors, and directing two of the school jazz ensembles.
2012 – 2015
Master of Music in Jazz Performance at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard pricing is $100/hour. If I'm travelling to your home, there will be an additional fee depending on distance.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught high school students during my Master's degree, as well as teaching undergraduate classes. This naturally continued after graduation, and I've now been teaching for a long time.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle school, high school, advanced college master's students. I've covered the entire range!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Try to have a clear idea of why you're taking lessons. Is it simple because you enjoy playing, or do you have a more specific skill set that you're trying to obtain? The more effort you put into having clear goals, the easier and more enjoyable it will be to work towards them!
