I have been playing violin for over 20 years and have taught in various capacities for over a decade. I grew up in central Massachusetts and now am based in LA.

The students I teach reach goals they didn’t know they had. Their biggest surprise is how easy the work becomes and how little energy they have to invest for their accomplishments. I really enjoy watching their faces light up and ask my favorite question, “That’s it?”

Hello, My name is Yao, and I graduated in Tsinghua University with a Doctor degree, Materials Science and Engineering. I used to be a calculus assistant for the professor for college students. I am now a full time Math tutor at home, teaching a variety level of Math, including but not limted to, Beast Academy, Pre-algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Probability, Calculus, AMC8/10/12, ACT/SAT, AP Math, etc. and hope that I can help you with any math problems.
