Whether you’re a new to sewing or an experienced sewer, you’ll learn valuable skills in my classes, taught from my bright, sunny private sewing studio in North Oakland, California.
My classes are based on good technique and an understanding and love of fabric. My goal is to make sewing an accessible and fun means of expression for everyone, whether you want to learn to make a garment from a pattern, alter and repair your own clothing, or make a truly creative costume!
You can take private or small group lessons in topics ranging from basic machine use to clothing alterations to working with commercial patterns.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the student's skill level I might suggest starting with Sewing with Patterns 101 or Intro to the Machine to get basic machine/garment making skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been sewing for 40 years and teaching for 20. I've taught thousands of students how to sew and specialize in beginners although I've worked with advanced students as well.
