My interest in sewing started when I was a little girl. I would take the scraps from my mother’s project and attempt to make Barbie doll clothes. My mom became a 4H leader for our county club and taught me and a group of girlfriends how to sew and cook. I just took off with it and never looked back. I made many of my clothes growing up and continued doing so until I found the quilting scene. After retiring from my day job at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, I started working part-time in a quilt shop - the rest is quilting history! I started my longarm quilting business in 2 ... View Profile
Sewing is my passion, when I look at the garments, I try to figure out how it's sewed, pay attention to any details that may add up to my skills. I have been teaching sewing to absolute beginners since 2016. Most of my students have opened their brand new machines in front of me and did not even know the parts of sewing machine. I never limit myself to any pattern neither told my students to follow any pattern. I believe that one should be able to take measurements, draft basic patterns and sew it into final garment on their own.
