We specialize in mentoring young designers through the fashion design process and help Sewing enthusiasts learn how to make well fitting, beautiful clothing.
We really strive to help our students get confident in their sewing skills. This helps with overall Confidence and it's a joy to see that happen over time.
I love seeing the lightbulbs go off when my students realize how easy and fun it is to sew and when they learn new things. Sewing and Fashion are my biggest passions and I love sharing that with my students.

We have two different processes by which we work with students:
1. Typically, students sign up for a month of weekly sewing classes or our monthly machine basics class and then weekly sewing classes. In the weekly studio classes, students work on a project of thier choice and we guide them through it from start to finish. We work at whatever level they are at - 0 skills to advanced wishing to uplevel their experience.
2. Students also come to us for a series of Private lessons. Perhaps the student wants to learn in a more private setting, or they want to learn a higher level skill, like pattern making or garment draping or have a specific project that they need a LOT of personal help with. These things lend themselves to private lessons.
I have a degree in Fashion Design from FIDM and have worked in the fashion industry (Gap, Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, Sesame Street Retail Stores) for the last two decades and had my own custom Bridal business for 5 years. Additionally, I taught in the Fashion Department at CCA from 2000-2008 and have been teaching students at the Sewing Room for the last 6 years.
Sewing and fashion are some of my deepest passions and I LOVE sharing that with my students.
