About
I’m John. I’m the founder and lead trainer of YallFit. I’ve been a personal trainer in North East LA since 2015. In 2014, I was hospitalized due to a stress-related ulcer. I was underweight and very sick. Exercise quite literally saved my life and gave me sanity. I’m extremely passionate about what I do and my goal is always to help my clients feel the best they can in the skin they’re in, gain confidence, and enjoy a healthy life. Every individual has unique needs and goals and it’s my aim to help my clients on their journey to achieving those goals, while actually enjoying the process. Working out shouldn’t feel miserable. I firmly believe that kids understand how to have fun with exercise and my training style reflects getting back to that place when fitness was fun.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
YallFit’s Process is made so we can create personalized exercise plans that are tailored just for you. We Start with your complementary consultation with one of our Certified personal Trainers. Based on the trainer’s findings during your consultation they will recommend a training package for you. Then your trainer will book a physical assessment with you, where they will do a couple very simple exercises to build a baseline for your physical health. Finally you start your very first training session that's made just for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an AS (Associates in Science), certified from ACSM ( American Collage of Sports medicine) and high risk management training from Bryan University, Tempe Arizona.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have realistic expectations, love yourself and we’ll put in the work together!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
We all have different goals and our bodies are unique, what’s your goal? And why? Let’s not do this because you hate your body, let’s do this because you love your body and you want to treat it better!
