About
My teaching stands out because I have been ivolved in learning music myself since the age of 4 and teaching since the age of 16. I have vast knowIedge of musical styles and experience working in all of them both as a musician, composer, producer and as a teacher. I prefer to teach by ear as much as possible. I believe being able to use and develop your ears is crucial in the pursuit of musical beauty and development of the students potential.
I have been playing music since I was 4 years old and still enjoy the beauty and the complexities of everything musical. From teaching beginners and advanced students to making beats, writing for symphony orchestra, scoring films and playing live shows.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to teach my students playing by ear as much as possible. I believe being able to use and develop your ears is crucial in the pursuit of musical beauty and development of the students potential. We will be playing call and response exercises and I will assign practice exercises that utilize the hearing aspect of music like transcriptions and improvising under certain parameters and framework.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since the age of 5 I was taught classical violin playing and eventually switched to saxophone when I was 12 years old. At 19 I was accepted at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark (where I am from). And was educated as a saxophone player, multi instrumentalist, composer and musical educator and also graduated from The New school of Music in New York as a saxophonist and composer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $70 an hour and $35 for half an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
While I was still in High School at the age of 17 I was the principal saxophone teacher at The Rudolph Steiner School in teh town of Aarhus, Denmark where I grew up. Later as a music student myself I taught a several music schools in Copenhagen. And later after graduading I also taught at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen as a professor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students at all levels from beginners to advanced students. Each level has a different set of chalenges and I understand and can accomodate each one of them.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Also being a film composer I was just nominated for a Danish Oscar for my score for the Danish film 7 years of Lukas Graham. And my band O Future just release a new EP titled Immaculate.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice to anyone who wants to be able to play any musical instrument is to pick a learning method primarily using your ears. The benefits are immense and you will eventually excell much faster as opposed to being taught through reading sheet music.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
As a student I would contemplate what my goals are for this process and how much time and effort I am able to put into it. You can move forward and progress from as little as 5 minutes playing every day. So any amount of time the student have is good enough as long as you approach that circumstance in the right way.
