Ashley is a dance teacher turned yogini. Her passion for movement as an art form, physical practice, and connection to spirituality shaped her journey as a yogi.
With over twelve years of teaching experience as a dancer, facilitating movement workshops and helping others to discover movement as a healing mechanism is one of Ashley's greatest passions. Having completed her 200-hour teacher training two years ago in Vinyasa, Ashley has crafted a truly unique yoga experience for her students.
She enjoys blending the pranayama of yoga with the conditioning of dance to create a truly unique physical and spiritual yoga experience in her classes. With an emphasis on incorporating Deep Stretch and Vinyasa, her workshops focus on taking her students on a journey inward. Ashley loves teaching a combination of chakra opening courses such as Buti Yoga, a blend of kudalini yoga, tribal dance, and plyometrics, all of which work to build strength and balance, and an opportunity for her students to discover their own versions of inner peace and bliss. Ashley works to bring a blend of west coast vibrancy and island aloha to each and every one of her unique classes.
My overall experience with Ashley’s class was simply the clarity that I needed. Having to move forward to new beginnings to grow outside of Kaua’i, my home, has been the especially memorable. To be grounded is one thing but to carry her teachings with me moving forward is another. So much fun and excitement to learn, and so much more comfortable with my mind & body. I’m so fulfilled in the experience and I can’t wait to do this again.
Ashley is an intuitive yoga instructor. She has a calm and grounding presence that permeates the session, including some levity and fun as well. She structures the session around the needs/desires of the participants seamlessly. Tips are voiced to make sure the poses are performed safely and effectively for a deeper experience. One of the things she focuses on is breathing. Seems simple, but with good instructors breath work brings in connection to your inner self for a deeper practice. To give some background, I have struggled with 'connecting' with yoga. I have heard so much about how yoga can be so healing and therapeutic for mind/body/spirit, which has been lacking in my experience. I have taken month long classes and have been lead by a wide variety of instructors. In the past yoga has been a good workout of sorts, but something was 'missing' that I could not explain. My first session with Ashley I finally felt what I always thought was missing from a yoga class. I felt an energy and a connection (mind/body/spirit) with myself that I had not felt before. I would recommend Ashley for anyone who is interested in a different experience with a yoga practice.
My experience was a beautiful blend of meditation and movement. Ashley is very intuitive and I left feeling loved and taken care of. It was also super FUN.
