Hi! My name is Anthony and i have been teaching music for about 10 years. I have a college degree in music from San Francisco State University and regularly play in different bands and ensembles. I love helping people of varying skills from beginner to advanced achieve their musical goals. I'm very patient, work with all kinds of learning styles and love working with students who are dedicated and consistent. I also love structure in my teaching and use various method books and programs to achieve the most efficient results.

Whether you are a beginner on the drums or an experienced player looking to expand stylistic vocabulary in jazz, funk, or rock, I can help you reach your goals. I place a special emphasis on playing musically and with sensitivity to the context of the style and the musicians around you, so that you'll get the call for the gigs you want.

I am a drummer with years of experience in the Jazz Field. I have a plethora of connections with bay area musicians and educators who can bring your knowledge of the Jazz idiom to the next level. I love teaching especially at the beginner level and watching people grow, trying to achieve their goal of becoming not only a drummer but a musician. Right now, I am taking a short break in between my bachelor of Jazz studies at the California Jazz Conservatory and have specifically studied under Gerald Cleaver, Alan Hall, Hamir Atwal, and Dillon Vado. I am excited to meet you and help you achieve your goals.

As a working musician and professional I am passionate about not only playing the drums, but also teaching. Nothing is more exciting then sharing knowledge with a student only to watch them grow as a musician under my guidance. It is an extemelly fulfilling path to go down. I have been playing drums for 21 years and have played in virtually every musical setting imaginable. I am well versed in all drumming styles and have played professionally for the past 7 years all throughout the bay area and the world. Music Together of Marin, founded in 1997, is a reputable, research-based music and movement program designed for children aged 0-5 and their caregivers. Located in multiple areas throughout California, including Larkspur, Sausalito, and San Anselmo, they offer a playful learning environment that involves singing, dancing, and instrument playing. Lead by Director Beth Crespan, with her 25-year experience working with children, Music Together of Marin continues its mission to combine the love of music with the love for children.

My greatest joy is helping people learn how to improvise with their voices! I also teach Djembe traditional rhtyhms, technique, and other percussion. I love to support people in finding their true voice from a place of play and non-judgement. I enjoy knowing when people feel that freedom and are able to take part in musical activities with friends or in professional settings.
