I will be attending UC Davis next year. I scored a 1490/1600 on the SAT and I finished the highest level of math offered to high school students (AP Calculus BC) in my junior year. I can provide essay editing, SAT help, and any other tutoring your child needs in english or math. I have worked with young students at Kumon for 6 months as a teacher and I know how to work with children. I will teach not only the material, but also test taking skills. I also am a nearly fluent french speaker, and am willing to teach french starting from zero experience to those who just need some extra tutoring.
I absolutely love helping children and teens discover the magic of words. I want to see your child succeed in school and I know what it feels like to feel lost, so I will work to make sure that they feel more confident in their work when they leave my sessions. I want them to feel like they truly understand what they're being taught and therefore less nervous when they have to take a test. I'm good with kids as well as teens, and I'll make sure my teaching style is engaging because I find it fun to teach them!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to understand your students' skill level and identify what they need to work on first. After that, I'll tackle the issue with explanations and make sure to target the issues they need the most guidance on. I'll then do practice problems once I feel like they understand. Throughout the whole lesson, I encourage questions for full clarity. At the end, I'll provide a mini test to ensure the concept has been understood and remembered for the rest of their life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in Kumon Learning Center with kids ages 3-9 for about 6 months. I know how to handle mood swings and lack of concentration that young children are prone to. I have a younger brother who is a young teen and I tutor him once a week as well, so I have enough expererience with all students ranging from 3-16 years of age.

Beyond the 1 hour sessions, I work with your students by assigning homework that I put together and reviewing it the next class. I not only spend time prepping for the lesson before hand, but I also put together study guides.
