About
With a comprehensive approach to the "thinking" man's sport of baseball, I can help take your game to the next level. Hard work will equivocate results. The game of baseball is as much mental as it is physical, and I will provide you the opportunity to synchronize these two attributes for optimal performance. Important quote to live by: You can have anything you want if you are willing to give up the belief that you can't have it. -Robert Anthony
I have played and coached at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. I take great pride in being able to instill balance between competitiveness and enjoyment. I have more than 40 years of experience in baseball. Nothing brings me more joy than to see a kid achieve his or her potential through hard work and discipline, and yes, some talent.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will conduct a thorough initial assessment, looking at all five tools of the player: defensive skills, speed, arm strength, ability to hit for average, ability to hit with power, and inidvidual assessments for position specific, i.e. pitcher, catcher, infielder, outfielder. I will furnish this to the client via email upon completion, with a specific training plan moving forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 40 years of baseball experience. I have coached at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. I am a member of the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations). I completed their First Aid, Health and Safety certification, I have a current BLS/CPR card, I completed their sudden cardiac arrest and concussion protocol. I have 2 Master's degree's, one in Counseling Psychology and one in business, and MBA with a concentration on Health Care Administration.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For individual one hour sessions I charge a flat rate of $50 per hour. I will provide discounts for group rates and or siblings, friends, etc. I am also willing to do 2 hour sessions as well for $90. I am only available for a minimum of 1 hour sessions and a maximum of 2 hour sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
You could say that I was born with it, or it is an innate quality. I have had a coaching mentality as far back as I can remember. There is nothing more rewarding than teaching a student a new concept and watching them institute it into their own game. I coach because of all of the coaches that sacrificed their time and energy to coach me at every level. Most importantly I coach because I love the sport of baseball with all of my heart, and it has helped mold me into the man that I am, and taught me valuable lessons about life that I use every day.
What types of students have you worked with?
All levels: from little league, babe ruth, travel ball AAU, high school (head coach), college (First Assistant coach), Professional (Instructional level, in both the U.S. and overseas). Boys, girls, young, old, and in between.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My daughter's ability to maintain her 4.0 grade point average through her entire freshman year, while participating in high school basketball, cross country, and track. She is off to a great start this year, albeit from home "for now", due to Covid-19.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To make sure that it is a good fit. The teacher or coach has credentials, and his or her style is a good fit for your learning style. Make sure that you get what you are paying for.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
To do a simple SWOT analysis: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities for growth and improvement, and threats or outside commitments or activities that could get in the way. Finally, why do you want a coach or a teacher, what is your motivation; what are your short term and long term goals with the sport of baseball or softball?
