What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started teaching?
When I was in college, I discovered that I love to speak and present in classes. I was also passionate about health and wellness at that time. So, I was thinking to myself on how I can combine my interests in speaking and presenting with health and wellness. And then, the career of becoming a motivational speaker came to my mind, so I went for it. As I was speaking, I discovered that I also enjoy teaching and coaching as well. Therefore today, my career focuses on speaking, presenting, teaching, and coaching.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think through all of their life areas such as health, relationships, and career, and then see where they need improvement on. All those life areas are related to each other. For example, if students want clarity on their career path, sometimes stress in any of those areas can make it difficult for them to see and develop their career successfully.
Students should also think about what they want to experience out of life, and not just on what they want to achieve. As human beings, we tend to want to expereince happiness, joy, fulfillment, meaning, and purpose, and sometimes achieving certain goals that they might want will not help them to experience those postive emotions. It is important for students to think through if they have a great understanding on how to expereince those positive emotions. With a better understand of what those positive emotions are, they can make better decisions in life.
