Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know what they want first. An intake is always important. I like to gauge where they are in their process and start to tailor my lessons to areas needing improvement. I like my sessions to always be fun, educational and motivational. I believe my job is to give you the knowledge and tools to motivate yourself and continue your practice wherever you go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold my Bs in traditional Chinese medicine
Certificate in Massage therapy with an emphasis on sports injury
Certified black belt instructor which is a certificate of teaching and being able to move people up in rank. It’s only awarded to a few people in a school.
Certificate in physical therapy and sports medicine training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a fair pricing method that won’t break the bank. I usually like to talk to people first whether they want per lesson or a package. It’s best we talk first.
How did you get started teaching?
I started training when I was 5 years old. I was being bullied and my father (who was a police officer) decided I needed to learn to defend myself. However the intent for training and the result of it were different. I fell in love with martial arts and grew in my confidence and strength and skill. I realized fighting was always the last result and if I was truly a martial artist I would know how to avoid such things without lifting a finger. I decided I would dedicate my life to empowering people and helping them realize their inner strength and potential.
