Michelle is a well seasoned professional, calm, patient teacher with over 50 years of sewing experience and over 37 years of sales and service to the local sewing and craft stores. Michelle also has a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise (FIDM). She has a passion to give back to the community with her volunteer program Sew For Love, come check us out. The class schedule has hearts by some locations these locations she offers students time to sew items for the community to be donated.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Have them feel welcome, no stress, ask your questions over and over no problem..
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sewing since I was 5. Sewed all my high-school clothes, associate arts degree from Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Currently a sales representative in selling sewing and craft projecin Bay Area now 38 years .Teaching now for 18 years to enjoy the experience of sewing. Founder and Award winner of the Volunteer Sewing program Sew For Love now 18 years strong.
How did you get started teaching?
Girl Scouts asked if I would start a program for them. It was very successful.
What types of students have you worked with?
Everyone age 7 and up. Many with difficulties in memory, ADD,ADHD and no limbs.

Let’s havefun and let your creativity out in the art of sewing
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It’s slow to start but once you know the sewing machine basics the world of design and creativity is amazing
