About

My name is Chris and I am currently a guitar and bass instructor at Chris Lee Guitar Instruction and Willow Glen Music School. I have extensive experience and training as a guitar/bass instructor, and as a professional performer. I received my degree at the Guitar Institute of Technology, in Hollywood, CA. I teach a variety of styles including rock / metal / jazz / blues / folk / fingerpicking / etc., from beginning to advanced levels. Students taking lessons with me will learn harmony and theory, ear-training, as well as technique/chops. My ultimate goal for you is to make your learning experience fun & enjoyable by teaching you what you need to know, as well as anything you'd like to play

I love showing students that learning can be fun and they can do anything as long as they work hard!

I’ve been a student of Chris’s for going on 2 years! When I first started off with Chris I had very little understanding of lead guitar and a lot of rhythm guitar. Now I have a much better grasp on the concepts of lead and rhythm guitar. Over the last 2 years I’ve been able to learn loads of songs from my favorite guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, and John Mayer. Not only has he taught me how to play their material, he has also taught me the techniques they use and how to apply them to my own style of playing. Without a doubt Chris knows his material and can play literally everything. He’s given me plenty of tools to become a successful guitarist and he’s taught me that in order to become a good guitarist you have to be willing to put in the work! Chris has also been very flexible over the last few years with my work and school schedule which has really helped me fit my passion for guitar into my normal busy life. You won’t regret having him as a teacher. The lessons are awesome especially if you ask a lot of questions and present him with the type of music you want to learn!

    Frequently asked questions

I usually offer a free demo lesson to new students, that way anyone on the fence about taking guitar lessons will lnow after trial.  I use a curriculum system that includes Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Harmony & Theory, and reading if interested.  Songs are learned based on what the students interests and influences are.

I have a perfomance degree in music from San Jose State University and have completed Musician's Institute's Journeyman's program.
