Mustafa K. says, "Only great things to say about Coach Dave, my son blossomed under his coaching, as a player and as a teammate. My son and I both have fondest memories from one season in his team. I found my son (11) starting as a beginner, with no understanding of game, growing to enjoying baseball, being excited about going to practice and continually wanting to push himself practice and games. To the people looking to join Dave program, I will say you are not only getting baseball skills but working with someone who understands what important from the child's point of view. Dave is a great listener, always calm, patient, up to date, well prepared and resourceful. I am excited that your child gets to work with him. -Mustafa" Read more

Hi Everyone! My name is Kalli Khouri, but in the basketball world I'm know as Kalli Crowder. As for my experience, I have been playing/practicing basketball for 14 years! It's safe to say I'm a one trick pony when it comes to sports. I have been playing on an elite level ever since 3rd grade playing on multiple elite travel teams. In 7th grade I was ranked 7th in the nation for the women's class of 2025 and number 2 for the women's class of 2025 in California. Throught highschool I was a starter on the women's basketball team, earning the title of captain freshman year. Sadly I have had to stop playing basketball due to an injury, but I want

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Mark was awesome with my son in coaching him on pitching and hitting. I like that he spent some time 1st getting him to stretch before we even starting on a lesson. He was patience and got right to the point of how to do each lesson. He also turned each lesson into a game, which is a nice change as it engaged my son more with each lesson. Mark was professional, quick to respond to my questions, and was able to find a time that worked out. At the end of the lesson he shared a video on how to stretch before pitching and gave my son homework before the next lesson. I will defiantly be doing another lesson with Mark and recommend him to anyone looking to improve your kids baseball skills
