Ceballos Studio

I'm a Mexican classical pianist and composer born in 1995, who started to show interest in music and play instruments at the age of 4.

During my 6 years of studies in the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico (2009-2015) practicing 12 hours a day, I earned several recognitions including the First Prize in the Conservatory’s Annual Piano Competition (2013), and a “Honorific Mention” in my piano examination recital (2014). During those years I performed extensively in many venues in the State of Mexico, Guanajuato, and Mexico City. Accompanying the Conservatory’s Choir under Maestro David Arontes, and tenor Alfredo Portilla’s class were crucial influencers of my playing. My mentors in Mexico are pianists Rosita Delsordo, Manuel Delaflor, and Marta García Renart.

While studying in the Conservatory, I was admitted to the “Young Artist Summer Program” of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2013, where I had the opportunity to study with composer Kat Souponetsky (with whom I performed Shubert’s Military Marches), pianist Chelsea Wang, and Chamber Music Mentor, Amy Yang. Ms. Yang, director of the annually held program, became a lighthouse in my life since. For the closing concert I was honored to be selected to play the piano part of Appalachian Spring by A. Copland with the “YASP Orchestra” under maestro Paul Bryan.

As a participant in the week long “Advanced Piano Training Program” in Guadalajara, Jalisco (2015), I had the opportunity to play in a masterclass for concert pianist Guadalupe Parrondo. I was lucky to be one of the 8 pianists selected to perform in the closing concert and surprised when I heard Ms. Parrondo decided to give me a non-planned award for best performance of a Mexican composition. The piece I played is “Movimiento para piano solo" by C. Islas. In the Training Program I met Steinway Artist Patricia García-Torres. Weeks later I performed for her in a masterclass and received 3 days of intensive private instruction at her studio.

In the summer of 2015, I participated in the "Philadelphia International Music Festival" at Bryn Mawr College where I had the opportunity to premiere in America “Movimiento para piano solo" by C. Islas.

Months later I started studies at The Golandsky Institute with world-renowned pedagogue Robert Durso (2015-2019). During those years I participated in The Golandsky Institute Summer Symposium at Princeton University (2016), and performed in several masterclasses for pianist Edna Golandsky at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and Yamaha Artist Services in New York City.

Today I'm based in Los Angeles and besides being a full time musician, I’m an amateur writer.
