Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When first working with a student, I like to access their strengths and needs. I also like to ask what learning style they feel most comfortable with (audible, hands-on, demonstrative, etc...) so that I am able to adjust my mode of teaching to accomodate the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications (Organizational and Interpersonal) with a minor degree in Advertising/PR and Music Technology. I've also served as a teacher with Fort Worth ISD (completed training through Texas Teachers) and have tutored with Kaplan, Inc as an SAT Instructor. My work and educational backgrounds have helped me to effectively engage with students on a personal level, as well as a professional level with my knowledge and experience as a teacher and entertainer in the music industry.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All lessons are a dollar a minute (Example: $30 for a half hour, $60 for an hour and $75 for 1 hour and 15 minutes).
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school students and senior-aged students. I do not discriminate! All are welcomed :)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals?
How long are you willing to commit to your goals?
