About
Like the title of my first book, Live Life for a Living, I am living my dream of being a transformational author and artist. I have illustrated, written, designed, and published ten activity workbooks, focused on developing the confidence needed for success.
I am a certified Reiki Master, published author and illustrator, award-winning public speaker, online art teacher, and henna tattoo artist.

My life now in Southern California is a far cry from my abusive and impoverished childhood in rural Wisconsin where I found solace and the motivation to change my life through art, music, and self-help books.
I am ambitiously dedicated to enabling others to reach their highest potential. My techniques can be applied to individual growth as well as that of the community.
My lifestyle demonstrates how I defined my dreams and completed goals despite the obstacles and challenges in my way (poverty, poor nutrition, neglectful parents, and an abusive older brother).
Whether it is art, meditation, or public speaking—I guide students to engage their imagination, discuss action steps, and means of motivation to remain focused on goals.

Frequently asked questions
How did you get started teaching?
In my twenties I had a personal goal of becoming an art teacher by the time I reached thirty years of age. When I was 25, my mom passed away (she was only 56). During the grieving process I began to understand the urgency of life—that time is limited and excuses can't get in the way of making dreams come true.
I began teaching for an after-school art program in inner-city schools of Chicago, at age 28. A few years later, I moved to Los Angeles and wrote a book about making a living doing what you love. Since then, I have illustrated and published a total of ten art-therapy, activity workbooks centered around self-help and personal development.
In early 2019, I started teaching online art classes to children worldwide, ages 6-12. Parent reviews state that I am patient, kind, and encouraging of self-expression.
When I am not facilitating classes, workshops, or mentoring, I design products for sale at a print-on-demand website, and offer henna tattoo services for parties and events.
What types of students have you worked with?
For almost a decade, I was married to an actor, voice-over artist and stand-up comedian. I coached him daily for auditions and helped him secure roles in American Sniper, NCIS, Pretty Little Liars, The League, and many more.
Some of my public speaking clients include Bolsa Grande High School, Synergy Quantum Academy, Aurora Health Care, Warner Brothers Entertainment, and FredTalks in Santa Monica. Three of these speeches were given in front of more than 250 guests.
My art students range from the ages of 6-12. I have also hosted many paint and wine nights with adults of all ages.
