Dan Raabe Performance
About
I coach in three areas: Boxing as exercise and self defense. Photography for visual communication, craft, or art- your choice. And Motorcycle coaching for new riders who want to develop safe and defensive street skills.
I instruct boxing as self defense. Naturally it's aerobic. It’s also a way to develop strength and stamina. I’ll show you how to build your skills so that you can protect yourself on the street, and build your strength and conditioning as well.
Professional photography is my passion. I still shoot when the job is in my interest range. If you have a passion for the balance and design inherent in visual arts then photography coaching will add to your awareness and visual perception.
Motorcycle coaching. The streets are intimidating. Riding is fun. Defensive motorcycle skills are acquired through coaching and time in the seat. I don’t want riders to get hurt or worse. I get coached as well. I practice. I spend time in parking lots and riding the twisties. I am a rider with a quest to always learn and improve. You are well advised to join the many riders who follow the same interest. You must have your endorsement, motorcycle, and all the proper gear plus current insurance. I can guide you from there. After instructing about 500 riders I’m prepared for almost anything.
I coach as part of MTIA. I've been involved professionally with USA Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Israeli Self Defense, CrossFit, USA Weightlifting, MSF, and Total Control motorcycle training. I am a graduate of the Art Center College of Design, School of Visual Arts and have been working at my crafts and interests for 50 years. See you on the path of your choice.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First you have to try out. Workouts are suited for anyone with the desire to train.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
None. I'm a self taught, hungry student of the interesting skills of martial arts and strength training. I didn't go to college, and I don't have a degree in exercise. I am a student of human physiology, movement, perofrmance, tactics, and use fight skills to enhance what I teach.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
First come and tryout at the gym. Then we'll discuss price. If you don't have the heart and soul of an athlete you won't train at all. Apathy is free.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught myself what it means to get strong. I did the research. I read the books and sought out the experts. I am the top student.
