About

We offer exceptional Classical Pilates training for fitness, health, physical rehab and more. Our awesome certified instructors have over 60 years of collective experience teaching clients of all ages and abilities. Therapeutic class, Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced. Mornings. Evenings. Saturdays and more! We provide high level teacher training and professional development for Pilates instructors.

Some of our instructors are also trained as personal trainers and provide TRX and other personal training in addition to the Pilates they teach.

We love our clients and seeing the huge difference Pilates makes in their lives.

From the grandmother in her 70's who has used Pilates to extend her ability to ski with her grandchildren by several years (and counting!) to the pro football players, runners and athletes who come to us for conditioning to EVERYONE in between! We consistently see that Pilates helps people feel better, reach their fitness goals, increase athletic performance, and add functionality to their lives. Nothing is more enjoyable than seeing our work make this kind of difference!

We are new to Thumbtack so for now, check out our reviews on Facebook, Groupon, Google and Yelp!

Frequently asked questions

We start off by discussing what the client is looking for and exploring ways in which we can help.  If a new client is in pain, the first objective is to find tools and strategies for aleviating pain.  We discuss current activity & fitness level as well as prior Pilates experience in order to guide clients toward the classes and instructors that would best fit their needs.

Desiree Sanchez, studio owner, has been teaching Pilates for 19 years.  She graduated from The Pilates Center's teacher training program in 1999, the Pilates Center's master's program in 2008, and is PMA certified.  She also created and directs our mentorship based teacher training program and has extensive experience teaching Pilates to clients, teachers, teachers in training, and delivering workshops nationally and abroad.  She has been accepted to present at the International Pilates Method Alliance conference 5 times.

Ask questions!
Find out about their level of training and whether they are PMA certified.
There is currently no regulation, state or national, regarding Pilates instructors, which means that literally anyone can call themselves a Pilates teacher, whether they are trained or not.
It is important to seek out Pilates instructors who are professionally trained and, whenever possible, certified through The Pilates Methoda Alliance, the *only* organization providing 3rd party certification for the Pilates industry.  If an instructor is 'certified' through the training program they attended, this means very little.  Look for PMA certification.

Just be straightforward about any pain or history of injuries.
A competent Pilates instructor should be able to guide you.
Don't be surprised if your instructor wants you to start with beginning level classes even though you are fit!
Pilates calls upon a skill set that is not typically developed elsewhere, and these building blocks are essential for effectively progressing to higher level classes & to get the most benefit form the work.
