They have helped my 16 YRO son make it to the next level of Travel Club baseball...A nationally sponsored team. His club and high school coaches all know not to try to change anything about him, but to work with his coaches at LD if they think there is a problem. I wouldn't trust my son to anyone else." Serves Parker, CO
At High Level Generation Hitting, I specialize in teaching the High Level Pattern (HLP)—the swing system trusted by some of today’s top hitters. HLP has helped fuel the success of players like AL MVP Aaron Judge and Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter, proving its impact at the highest level of the game. As the only certified High Level Pattern instructor in Colorado, I bring that same proven system to hitters right here in Denver. My approach makes HLP simple and digestible for every athlete—whether you’re stepping into the cage for the first time, competing at the high school and college level, or looking to unlock the next step and

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

LionDrive lessons are hands down the best lessons our son has ever had. The coaches easily spot areas in athletes that are weak spots and design drills that show immediate improvement. They also recognize strengths and use positive reinforcement to motivate their students. LionDrive coaches are not only developing our son’s skills as a player but are also instilling confidence, dedication and respect that translate to his character as a young man. The best part? Our son enjoys his one-on-one lessons, as well as the camps he’s attended, at LionDrive. You couldn’t ask for better training for your athlete!

Our son has worked with Dave for two seasons, and we could not be more pleased with the growth and knowledge he has attained. The individualized instruction is excellent and no detail is overlooked. While expectations are high, the players are constantly challenged which keeps them motivated. Dave and his coaching staff are people of integrity, knowledgeable, and relate well to the players. In addition, they emphasize the importance of accountability, responsibility, and character development.

My son was passionate about baseball but being 14 it was a tough age to start the sport. Fortunately we found Nathan. He not only shows a love for the game but he is very motivational and organized. He set a very detailed plan for the first month and is always telling my son that he can do whatever he wants as long as he puts his mind to it. Training is very complete and touches upon all the skills. Most importantly my son is counting the hours until his next session. Highly recommend him.

We’ve seen excellent improvement in our son’s baseball skills from the instruction program THROWformance at Sandlot, in Castle Rock. From new stretching techniques to the foundation work on becoming a better pitcher and leader, we are very happy with the results! The coaching staff at this facility is positively charged to build better baseball players. If your son or daughter plays ball, you should check this out!
