40 years experience teaching K-12 music. Currently direcing bands at Foundations Academy in Brighton and private music lessons at Joyful Noise Music in Brighton. I stay musically active playing trumpet in the community jazz band. I frequently play in musical productions at various lical venues including the Brighton Armory Perforing Arts Center. I am twice winner of the John Phillip Sousa Band Award. I'm a praise team leader and guitarist at my church. I specialize in folk and country acoustic guitar.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask them about their musical interests and experience. I give them a little summary of my own history, throwing in some humor to break the ice. Then I start getting them acquainted with the instrument and the basics of posture and notation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Music, instrumental emphasis.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge by the month, $130 for four 30 minute sessions, payable on the first lesson each month. Partial months are prorated. Cancelled lessons are not refundable unless cancelled by the teacher. All methods of payment are accepted
How did you get started teaching?
It was my career goal in college. I was hired for my first full time teaching job just before I graduated.
