ART Guitar School
About
I have taught private lessons to hundreds of students in-person and online for over 12 years as well as clinics, workshops and master classes throughout the U.S. I am an award winning composer, signed professional musician and have studied at top music schools. I specialize in teaching all levels, styles and genres on the Acoustic Steel String, Classical Nylon String and Electric String Guitar. I assist in helping you set musical goals, overcome frustration and enjoy learning the songs that you love. I am the owner of ART Guitar School located in Danbury, CT which has been awarded "Top 10 Guitar Instructor and Lessons in Danbury, CT" by Lessons.com. This year, I was appointed a Professional Member of the GRAMMY Awards Recording Academy for Music Education and ART Guitar School was approved with high regard by the Academy. I am a recording artist signed by FRETMONKEY RECORDS; a record label consisting of 19 artists from 13 different counties. I was selected to score the award winning short film “Lost” written by Michael Chen which won “Best Music”, “Best Film”, “People’s Choice Award” and “Best Story” at film festivals VISFF and MSFF of 2016. I have studied at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee as a B.F.A. in Fingerstyle Guitar (currently the only school in the world to hold this degree) under John Stropes and Andrew Lardner as well as Western Connecticut State University under Kenny Wessel (Ornette Coleman) and Ted Morcaldi (Mad Satta, Matthew Whittaker Trio) which I currently hold a B.A. in Music with a double concentration in both jazz/classical guitar. I have also taken private lessons at The Julliard School of Music in NYC under Tengyue Zhang (GFA 2017). During my collegiate studies, I was a TA for multiple courses in introductory guitar; a course consisting of 120+ students guided under Dr. Beverely Belfer (Steve Howe, Daryl Stuermer) who is the author of the guitar method book "Don't Fret the Frets". What I love most about teaching is the connection, support and influence I make with my students. There is nothing more satisfying to the student, and excitement for myself, than for them to accomplish their goals while enjoying their lessons. Especially those who never thought it would be possible when they first decided to pick up or begin learning the guitar. My goal as a teacher is to educate my students to play the music they love and what had inspired them to pick up the guitar in the first place. Through my years of teaching, I continue to cure the struggle and frustration that students experience while learning the guitar.
I love teaching and helping people who have never played a musical instrument before or have many years of experience but still struggle learning. It excites me when a student reaches their goals and overcomes the frustration they experienced before taking lessons.
