Michelle Brooks-Thompson is the kind of voice teacher who changes how you see yourself as a singer, not just how you sound. When I started with her, I could hit notes — but I was singing like someone doing karaoke, not like an artist. Michelle completely shifted that. She doesn’t just train your voice technically (though her ear for pitch, breath support, and tone is incredible). She pushes you to find your own creative instincts — how to interpret a song, add your own phrasing, and actually perform rather than just perform correctly. Every lesson feels like it’s building both skill and artistic identity at the same time. If you’re looking for a teacher who will help you become a better technical singer AND a more expressive, confident artist, Michelle is exactly who you need. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

My 12 year old absolutely loves his virtual trumpet sessions with Maggey. She stepped up when schools were closed due to COVID and provided a uniquely fun experience for my child during uncertain times. She is an amazing instructor with tons of energy and lots of talent to share!
