About
It has always been a dream of mine to turn my experience and knowledge into a way to shape young athletes and mentor kids of all ages. Nothing is better than seeing kids happy while developing in sports and being able to help mentor them to be better people in life. Seeing these kids and student athletes prosper and gain a love through sports while learning dedication, discipline, and life skills is my end goal. Through my high school years, I was a three sport varsity athlete which helped become a collegiate football player at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. I have mainly worked out of Norwich, Connecticut for the last 3 years. I have been running advanced basketball and football clinics , FUNdamental Hoops, and strength and conditioning camps for kids from the age of six all the way up to seniors in high school. I also run programs like my Smart Start Multi Sport that ranges from the ages three to six; there is no age I am not comfortable to train. I am employed by the City of Norwich to run most of their sport camps as well being a supervising coordinator for their summer camp. I am the co founder of the AAU basketball team, DHW Knights, which provides student athletes opportunity to showcase their talent by interstate competition. My passion for sports-education grows everyday when seeing my trainees benefit from the skills and hands in training my programs help provide. I hope I am able to bring my passion to your child and help them find the love for sports that will drive them to continue their sports careers and be a competitive well rounded athlete.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start off with basic fundamental drills to see coordination , ball handling , passing , and shooting. For football I look for fundamentals like changing direction , footwork , ability to catch and coordination. I love to ask a lot questions about the sport to see how much knowledge and skill has been acquired before training with me so I can get a base line of where I believe your child is at and where I can get them to be in the future.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started a non profit call DHW Athletics to provide training for athletes who don't always have the ability to pay for good training. We fundraise and it helps us pay for part of our AAU basketball teams. I also am a coach and fitness instructor for many programs at the Norwich Connecticut Recreation Department. Programs I teach range from High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.T.T) to Smart Start Multi Sport which is a intro to sport for kids the age of 3 to 6
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge by the hour with a baseline of $30 dollars but sometime charge more based upon location that I must travel for gas. I'm am negotiable because I know everyone circumstances are different but I do not go below $25 for a hour.
How did you get started teaching?
My father is and has been a varsity basketball coach for over 10 years. I excelled at sport through high school and still now play in college. I been coaching once we founded our non profit about 3 years ago. Helping at various basketball camps in high school on top of volunteering at my towns youth football field gave me the chance to study under other coaches.
What types of students have you worked with?
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This May I was able to watch a student athlete of mine who I trained with for a entire summer win player of the year , all area player of the year , Allstate first team , and all area first team. I also was there to see him sign his letter of intent to play division 1 basketball next year.
Also this May I was able to bring one of my student athletes who is a three star recruit to the rivals camp in New Jersey. From all our training he was able to improve his national ranking and he is still ranked the number defensive lineman in the state of Connecticut.
In April I was able to see one of the females I train recieve her second division one basketball offer and transition from her highschool to a well acclaimed Prep school.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I believe being a coach we are here to motivate help you create a lasting love of that sport. A teacher should share your passion and encourage to get better with or without them. Your teacher should point you in the direction of other coaches or even trainers that may help you get your goal.
