Hello! Just in time to improve your learners reading skills, Wisdom Wins will be serving the community by offering in-person and virtual small group literacy sessions!
At Wisdom Wins, we are God led, based on what God said, so all of our content will be God read. With over 20 years of combined experience in education, Dr. Jamaal Thomas and Ashley Thomas have created a literacy program that addresses the whole student- academically, spiritually, and mentally!
Our small groups will offer learners the chance to work in a fun-filled, motivated environment with others students from different areas.
Our small group sessions will contain the following focuses:
- Science of Reading strategies
- Executive Function practices
- Social Emotional Learning through the Bible
- Total Physical Response learning

I enjoy seeing the progression of the student. To see them grow from a seed to a full tree in reading is truly a blessing. What's even more exciting is seeing the students become a staple of their community based off of the Social Emotional Learning that they have developed in our program.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take the time to learn about their style and their motivation before I learn their academic weaknesses. This way, when a student faces a roadblock or challenge in their journey with learning, we can utilize their motivation to help them push them through their challenge.
Academically, the main assessment will be observation of the students performance in different areas of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, articulation, and comprehension. Being able to ascertain the student in the midst of a session will allow me to see their mental processing, or executive function.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Doctorate of Psychology, a specialization in Reading for Elementary and Middle School. I have 11 years of teaching experience in Elementary School, with 5 years in Special Education, 5 years in General Education, and 1 year as an Instructional Lead Teacher.
