About
I’ve been sewing since the tender age of(9) nine years old; making buttonhole by hand for my older sister, who was an accomplished seamstress, sewing for the family & a select group of customers I pestered her to teach me to sew, using the threadle that we owned. We’d use taped together newspapers for our patterns so I would say that’s where it all started.
It has now been five decades since that threadle machine & I have to say that my passion for Patternmaking & sewing has not diminished. In fact I feel like any day that I do not learn something new, to me, that’s a wasted day.
We make our own patterns from individualized measurements for both men & women. We also make patterns for others who sews but lack the Patternmaking skills. I am a published author in Threads magazine on pants drafting.
My taglines are, “We make you look great, no matter what your shape & It doesn’t matter the time, location, or season; great fit is always in fashion.
I do have a degree in Fashion Design but my passion is to pass on the knowledge that I have acquired over the years, so that the business of sewing doesn’t go the way of the ‘horse & buggy’.
It's making something from scratch that fits my customers exactly as they were expecting. Seeing the delight on their faces & satisfaction in their eyes. Being able to go from measurements to a pattern that fits & flatters is truly an amazing feeling.
