About
I offer sewing lessons online nationwide and in-person in the Fort Lauderdale area. Do not chose me for in-person lessons if you are not in South Florida.
I have 5 cameras with multiple views for online classes. My online students progress at the same rate as in-person students.
I do not do sewing work for people, please do not ask.
I love working with kids and adults. I can break each project down into small steps that are easy enough for 8 year olds to do. Most adults can do them too:).
I love the excitement of my students watching their projects come together. There are moments of pure chaos when it seems like no progress is being made and then all of a sudden, it's done and everyone is amazed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students with a sewing machine start with the how not to break the sewing machine lesson. Then we do simple straight line sewing projects, usually a skirt, pillow or drawstring bag. At that point, we start working on the student's goals.
If the student doesn't yet have a sewing machine, we discuss what would be a good choice and the other items that will be necessary to have.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private lessons are $60 an hour for one lesson or discounted to if you pay for a monthly package.
Group lessons are $30 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching since 2009. I don't remember learning to sew. My grandmothers taught me back in the mist of time. I have been teaching after school at several local schools for about 10 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught students 6 to 80. Locally, we have a fashion show every year so students can show off what they've made.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Two of my young students were working together during the stay at home orders and they had every problem imaginable with the sewing machine. It was so amazing that even over the internet, they got the bobbins back in both a drop in bobbin machine and the one with the bobbin in the bottom and took the foot plate off to retrieve a broken needle. I love in person classes, but it was really nice for them to listen to instruction and fix their machines without me standing next to them. Honestly, they probably will remember that more than if I helped them fix it in person.
