Gracie Barra is a global organization formed by more than 600 Self Defense schools. The mission of each of our schools is to train the body, mind and spirit through the highest level of instruction as a means for individual development and the strengthening of the family spirit – going beyond the competitive realm.

Since inception, the GB Family has been in constant growth. Under the leadership of Master Carlos Gracie Jr., Gracie Barra has evolved from one small school at the suburb of Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, to the #1 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team in the world, forming a community of thousands of individuals on five continents.

    Professor Roberto is an amazing teacher. He has an amazing depth of technique a lot direct experience in BJJ, MMA, and self defense. But what really sets Professor Roberto apart is his enthusiasm, communication, and leadership.

    Professor is an excellent instructor. Breaks everything down step by step and explains why so it all makes sense and makes it easier to remember. Very team oriented and supportive. Very positive atmosphere. My son is getting a good workout and being challenged to do his very best. He loves doing it and the results he is seeing.

    Frequently asked questions

    New students are greeted by our staff and given a tour of the facility which includes a comfortable atmosphere, streaming music, Tv's and locker rooms including showers. A private introductory lesson lasting 25-30 minutes is the first step to joining our team and getting in shape with us!

    Our staff consists of several Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts as well as Kickboxing, Wrestling, and MMA experienced coaches. They have coached at all levels from high school wrestling up to UFC fighters.

    We have several programs based on the discipline a student would like to learn as well as self defense and fitness goals. These programs range from $70 - $189 per month.

    The top characteristics to look for when hiring a coach for self defense is personality and expertise. A coach must be unselfish, happy, and willing to put all their energy into motivating their students to reach their goals. 

    Services offered
