NAISMITH INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL FOUNDATION
About
Hello, my name is Coach Hector-my best friend was the youngest grandson of Dr. James Naismith. The inventor of basketball. What we love to do for student-athletes is not only share with them the skills they need but also provide you with the history of how the game almost was never invented. We are offering new clients a discount on our digital profile to help them promote their accomplishments to future schools and universities. This gives them the digital resource that will be the mandate in the future. This gives the student the best foot forward when reaching out to the athletic directors. Hope to hear from you soon and please visit our website.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What we are here to do is not only promote good sportsmanship, and teach the students about basketball but to also provide a disciplined work ethic to evolve them into a student-athlete as a whole!
This is installing the ethics what you learn from sports- something you cannot teach - it’s called "CHARACTER" and this will lead them to be a successful part of the community as an adult.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have coached basketball for over twenty years here in Central Florida and have coached over thousands of children who are now adults. I earned basketball while playing in the streets of Boston and then moving to Florida and teaching myself from experience and reading books from the library. I have great mentors in Frank Streety an original retired Harlem Globetrotter and all of the living legends.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Basketball was made to never be a profit- so with that being said our founders grandfather Dr. James Naismith- never charged for his simple game of what he created from his limited childhood-Unfortunately in today’s times my horse eats gas not hay- So we have to charge a minimum just for transportation purposes! We are a nonprofit and your cost will be donated to the foundation as a form of a donation. This way it is a win, win, win, for all of us.
How did you get started teaching?
Basketball changed my life and when I had the chance to coach, I started with my own children - I have two boys/Men now and thus had two teams. We had the most dominate teams here in Kissimmee/Osceola county for over 5 years. Never played to embarrassed anyone always played with dignity and honor and respect for the game of basketball and life!
What types of students have you worked with?
The beauty of this game called basketball is that it is non gender and non-threatening. I have work with very skilled players to players that never even touched a ball in their entire life. Also have worked with physically challenge individuals and those were my best students because they just wanted to learn and have fun while be around other players and learning to live, love, and laugh!!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Well like I have been sharing with you how basketball saved my life- Growing up in the streets of Boston back in the 80's wasn’t nice. But one day I seen my neighbor dribbling and walking the ball at the same time and I was hooked! Fast forward to the past twenty years- I met an individual that changed my life forever- his name was Ian-YON-Naismith. I met him back on the labor day weekend in 1999- He asked me a simple question- as I was passing by him in Universal Studios parking lot- He said “EXCUSE ME SONNY- YOU KNOW WHERE NBA CITY IS? those words changed my life forever - I said sure follow me- while he was carrying a unique trophy - and a gold briefcase- I gave him my chef's coat and I took what he was carrying- low and behold after we got to the restaurant. I was dismissing myself politely and said – “Well sir my name is Hector Perdomo it was a pleasure” he turns and said “My name is YON Naismith son”- and I said huh? Yes, son my name is Ian YON Naismith - my grandfather invented the game of basketball- I said HUH. LOL! He asked me if I wanted to see what I was carrying in the gold briefcase? I said sure why not? Well he opens the briefcase –and low and behold – THE ORIGINAL 13 RULES OF BASKETBALL! Were in my hands and I didn’t even know it! Well, all I can say is that Ian became part of my life from that moment on- and I can never forget him because he is the reason that I am here representing his foundation that was created by the very family who invented the game you we all love! What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Write down a list of concerns and then take it a step at a time- you can never stop learning especially in these days and age- learning is what we must continue to do and learn with humbleness and an open mind and a clever heart over all!
Remember our motto here at the foundation it is to be
