Jordan is a graduate of the music program at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media. Top of his class, Jordan teaches guitar and bass guitar to students at varying levels from beginner, to more advanced players. He teaches music theory, understanding of the fretboard, scales, improvisation techniques, reading, ear training, and more. He loves what he does and he makes lessons a fun, relaxed but productive environment. Jordan currently teaches at a School of Rock as a guitar, bass guitar, and vocal instructor. He has been teaching private lessons for about four years. He has also been in many bands and musical endeavors, and loves his job of playing live music on the weekends!
I love that I am able to help shape people and kids to become all that they want to be as a musician. I also love that music is a language that brings people together, regardless of your walk in life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For new students, I typically spend the first lesson getting to know them, what their musical tastes are, where they are at in terms of ability and proficiency on the instrument, and what their goals are. I then can create a lesson plan thats catered to what their needs and wants are as a musician, and get them on the track to becoming not only a great guitarist/bassist, but a well-rounded musician.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have given private guitar/bass lessons to students for about four years now. I have played both instruments for about 12 years, and now have graduated from the Music Performance program at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer lessons in varying time slots, depending on what works best for the student. My time slots and pricing are as follows:
30 minutes - $25
45 minutes - $30
60 minutes - $40

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in highschool when peers expressed a desire to learn to play guitar. I then created a business out of it, and have taught ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages. Currently, I work with students between the ages of 7 and 17, however I have worked with adults as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Search for a teacher who not only has the experience and knowledge, but who will take a look at your specific needs as a student, and cater lessons to you. This experience is about you becoming who you want to be as a musician, and a teacher should be there simply to help you achieve those goals, and give you guidance.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. "Am I ready to put in the work?"
I create a fun and relaxed environment to learn in, but I'm still going to challenge you to get better, and work through things that will be difficult.
2. "Is this the right situation for me?"
Make sure you have the right teacher in front of you. It's important to feel comfotable, and to feel like you get along with your teacher. Also, consider logistical things such as drive time, schedule conflicts, and things of that nature, and then decide if the situation is the right one for you.
