What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Acting
Chiquita will discuss your experience with acting. She will then have the student read an age appropriate text to determine level of skill as well as developmental areas.
The goal of each lesson is believability and truthfulness to the circumstances of the story. It will be a great journey!
Spanish
Chiquita will have a conversation first to discuss your background with Spanish to gain a better understanding of your skill level as well as to gain an understanding of your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Chiquita has trained in Los Angeles at the Joanne Baron/ D.W. Brown Studio in the Meisner Technique. The Meisner Technique is a proven technique that works for both stage and the camera.
Chiquita has worked as an acting apprentice with Horizon Theatre in Atlanta where she also acted in original plays.
Chiquita recently completed her Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Virginia where she already taught several acting classes.
In addition, Chiquita has worked in leading and co- star roles for television and film. She is excited to begin helping you hone your craft!
Chiquita has been trained in interpretation and translation. She has also worked as an interpreter in legal and medical settings.
