About this pro

I am a passionate holistic health coach ready to listen with compassion and offer actionable advice in a lighthearted way.

We are bombarded with health and nutrition advice everywhere we turn. This makes health a confusing topic for so many people who really try to do what's best, but end up feeling overwhlemed or defeated in their efforts. I help put an end to that confusion and build ease and confidence in one's relationship with food and health.

If you're at a point in your life where you need some clarity, and more confidence in your dietary choices, it may be the right time for you to start working with me on your goals.

It all starts with your free 20 minute consultation—which I like to call a Strategy Session—where I will spend time learning about you. This helps us starting putting together a strategy and see if we're a good fit. Ready?

More About Marisa Moon:

Driven by the discovery of her non-celiac gluten intolerance in 2013, Marisa entered the field of nutrition with a recipe blog called My Longevity Kitchen and obtained a certificate in Culinary Arts from Kendall College of Culinary Arts in Chicago. The early blogging and culinary experiences provided Marisa with collaborative opportunities from businesses like the cutting-edge cafe called Hi-Vibe Superfood Juicery. Starting as the Paleo recipe developer and then earning the title of nutrition researcher, content creator, and marketing manager, Marisa wore many hats over the next 5 years.

Today, Marisa focuses her practice on 1-on-1 health coaching that fuses together health + life coaching to help busy adults put an end to the confusion about what’s healthy—and finally achieve results that last. Other projects include hosting and producing The Foundation of Wellness podcast, public speaking, writing for the Primal Health Coach Institute blog, and teaching Intermittent Fasting with the LIFE fasting app at https://lifeapps.io/marisa-moon/.

After 5 years of intermittent fasting in her own life—to combat ADHD symptoms and sluggish energy—and then educating others in workshops, podcasts, and summits, Marisa is becoming known for her flexible I.F. approach that emphasizes nutrient-dense foods and intuitive, enjoyable fasting.

You can also find some of her work on the Aura Health & Meditation App (see her life coaching channel called "The Wild Within"). Marisa offers public wellness workshops, and one-on-one health coaching. She specializes in the traditional foods diet and ancestral health, helping put an end to the confusion regarding what’s healthy, and teaching others what we can learn from our ancestors...all in an effort to prevent disease and promote vitality. Her services are available online, or in Northwest Indiana, and Chicago.

I come from a place of understanding, and personable connection. I know exactly what it's like to be looking for answers and to feel like my head is spinning from all of the conflicting advice—or even a lack of advice. I love to work with people who are genuinely interested in becoming healthier and enjoying life in the process.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Everyone starts with a free 20-minute consultation that I like to call a Strategy Session. That's where we get together (phone or video chat if needed), go over a short pre-intake questionnaire, and we will spend some time getting to know each other. During a strategy session we discuss your goals, your obstacles, my background, and the ideas I have for you if we decide we're a good fit.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

  • Graduate from the Primal Health Coach Institute Accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

  • Currently enrolled to get certified in Nutrition for Cancer Prevention and Longevity through the Health Sciences Academy in London.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Private Health Coaching starts at $64 per week of coaching when paid in full for one monthly package. The one week of coaching includes one 60-minute coaching session, one week of accountability, email and/or text message follow-ups, customized learning materials, and follow-up goal setting.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work primarily with women age 35-65 who are frustrated with the state of their current health and looking for answers that can bring about lasting change or ease in their approach to dieting. I have coached many men over 45 as well.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently participated in the local and sustainable food expo for Northwest Indiana called FED Expo & Discussion. I regularly attend ancestral health conferences such as Paleo f(x), Bulletproof Conference, the Ancestral Health Symposium, all in an effort to stay current and connected with my peers.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

You'll know when you're ready to hire a coach. That time comes when the symptoms you are living with cause you more frustration or discomfort compared to the changes you will have to make to eradicate them. You're ready to do whatever it takes to find answers once and for all so that you can live your best life.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Are you doing this for yourself? I hope that's a yes :)

Are you ready to carve aside a few minutes each day to look inward and unveil what's holding you back?

Are you ready to prepare your own real food meals or pay someone who will?

Are you ready to learn new things and challenge yourself to get better?
