We do an initial consultation for every client to find out what their goals are and what brought them to Pilates. We then match a client with a perfect teacher for their needs. Or direct them towards a group map class or a group equipment class depending on their interests and goals.

I originally began Pilates after having been a professional dancer for a number of years, I ruptured a disk in my spine which left me in a serious amount of pain. I began to do Pilates while living in Aspen Colorado and immediately found relief from my back pain. From there I found the amazing women of the Pilates Center in Boulder and studied Pilates with them. I delved further and decided to study Pilates and become an instructor of the method. I wanted to help others live in a pain-free world as well.
I've worked with every type of body I can imagine. From pre and post-natal women, to senior citizens,to professional athletes, to rehabilitating clients post surgery, every need and level of fitness.
My advice upon picking an instructor would be to look for somebody with deep anatomical knowledge, somebody who has practiced Pilates for quite some time as well as instructing. I would also advise to look for someone who has gone through a minimum of a 600 hour teacher training program, which all my instructors have. I would definitely advise taking a private lesson and evaluation prior to jumping in a group class format. This is the best way to get to know Pilates and your bodies capabilities before jumping into a group of people and feeling that pressure to try to keep up. Best to get to know your body and answer your questions.
Questions you need to think through regarding your needs are perhaps what brought you to Pilates in the first place? What have you done in the past, fitness-wise, that has and hasn't worked for you.? Do you have any nagging chronic pain? Is there an old injury that you, perhaps, have been ignoring? That at this time you would want to address. What would you like to achieve for your body in 10 lessons? In 20 lessons? In a year?
