About
Not only do I teach sewing, but I offer a full range of classes and services that relate to the field of fashion design. I not only teach how to make a dress, but also how to make a clutch purse and shoes to match.
I majored in dressmaking over 30 years ago, even though sewing was not one of my full-time jobs for many years, it has always been a part of my life. Sewing is such a broad field -- and I've done just about every aspect. While I specialize in making accessories (hats, scarves, neckties, vests, etc.), I also enjoy making home dec. items (draperies, table runners, placemats, etc.). Yes, I've been sewing for so long, it no longer seems like work -- it's second nature. I especially like the rewarding feeling I get when one of my student's look of dismay turns into a look of joy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I ask questions to determine the student's level of sewing knowledge and why they're interested in sewing. Once that's done, I get started with my program by explaining where we're going to get started, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to a vocational high where I majored in dress making.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Classes are $20 for one hour of sewing classes for children from ages 6 to12 years, and $40 for two hours of adult sewing classes.
How did you get started teaching?
I owned a small business and was never able to find someone to help with the sewing. That is when I decided to start teaching sewing.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught children from the age of six and up. I also teach adults. I've conducted classes on a one-on-one basis, in a group setting, in high schools, churches and recreational facilities. I am currently conducting classes from my studio.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Having a young man who is interested sewing does not happened often. I am currently teaching a young man who is so enthused about sewing it does my heart good.
