Over the past 31 years I have given over 75,000 private lessons in pitching, hitting, and fielding in both baseball and softball. I have played men's fastpitch softball, and coached both high school fastpitch softball and baseball. I also umpired softball and baseball for over twenty years.
As a former high school teacher, I understand the importance of family and education in conjunction with sports. Many of my students have used softball and baseball to further their educational goals. I feel it is part of my job to bring as much passion to my student's thirst for knowledge as it is for teaching them how to throw a softball or baseball.
I have had a Big Ten and Missouri Valley players of the year, 12 players of 7 different IHSA championship teams, and numerous MVP's on summer teams.
My proudest moments are when students come back who are doctors, lawyers, teachers, coaches or just downright good citizens and say they fondly remember the lessons learned at the Ball Park.
