About
I teach classical yoga, a Hatha/ Vinyasa style class. I focus on holding the poses longer to release stored stress & tension from the body while using vinyasa's to increase strength, flexibility, & warm up the body. I incorporate breath work & meditation into the practice to further decrease stress by de-exciting the nervous system so students experience mediative states along with feeling recharged & revitalized!
I am a 200 hour certified yoga teacher that has studied with top teachers as well as yoga master teachers.
I focus on using a yoga practice to decrease stress to increase overall health, wellbeing, & cognitive function!
The ability to teach & share such a transformative practice that is yoga!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with the fundamentals of a classical yoga practice. The functional anatomy as well as the "energy body" and how movement and breath work simotaneously. Meeting the student exactly where they are at in their practice, going over the foundation and importance of the pelvic tilt and the shoulder blade wrap that ensures safety and effectiveness of the poses along with using the breath to create a body mind connection. This way the student reduces stress to develop a deeper sense of self awareness. I introduce the bandhas (energetic techniques to induce mediative states of mind) and basic pranayama (breathwork) techniques. We then go through a gentle yet invigorating flow focusing on key alignment and how to link breath with movement, which can vary from student to student depending on the students level of experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a 200 hour certified yoga teacher specializing in classical yoga styles such as hatha and vinyasa flow. I am also very heavily influenced by Forrest Yoga!

How did you get started teaching?
I began because I needed something to reduce my stress as well as developing a deeper sense of self awareness so I could get better at life! I fell in love with yoga. I enrolled in a 200 hour teacher training program in 2015 and again in 2018. I have been studying yoga since 2015 and teaching consistently since since Jan 2019.
What types of students have you worked with?

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they understand the why's of a yoga practice. That the teacher has the ability to explain why we do what we do and is able to meet you where you're at.
