My passion for yoga, Pilates , bootcamp, meditation, Reiki and shamanism began in 2016 after reaching a breaking point in my depression. Through expierencing a lack for many years I was able to surrender. By developing new daily habits and routines I was able to turn my life around tremendously. I am a firm believer in the power of meditation and positive thinking. Self love and compassion towards yourself is vitial to the healing journey.Through awakening to mind, body and breath awareness practices I was able to move into a state of accaptance for the present. You will achieve your goals by hard-work and determination as you embrace the jou ... View Profile

Matthew has evolved his teaching style to predominately speak to the body, where students will learn more about their own anatomy and how to achieve depth in their yoga shapes using leverage and muscle activation. Constant learning is what makes yoga a lifelong practice, one way to create this longevity is to cross-pollinate with other movement practices. This has led Matthew to instruct an unconventional style of yoga that often includes added mobility routines along with the added practice of functional human movements. Matthew whole-hardheartedly believes yoga needs to translate outside of the studio because it is how we move ourselves dur ... View Profile

How much do yoga classes cost?

Frequently asked questions

How much do yoga classes cost?

The average cost of single group sessions at yoga studios across the country is $15 to $20. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.
