I joined a gym about 5 yrs. ago and I started training with a personal trainer. I was on my way to achieving my goals of losing weight and building muscle. Things were going well for a few years until I tore my rotator cuff about a year ago and my trainer moved out of state. I was in need of a new trainer and also needed direction on how to workout with a injured rotator cuff. I had met Marcus a few years ago at the gym when I took his Alpha class. I was impressed by his teaching of the class and thought he was a very knowledgeable trainer. He was attentive to everyone in the class and his workouts were tough. I thought Marcus might make an excellent trainer for me and decided to give him a try. I was so glad that I did. Marcus has been very good about tailoring an exercise program for a full body workout that always challenges me, but also protects my torn rotator cuff from further damage. He is very good with helping Clients reach their goals even when they have health or injury issues. In the short few months that I have been training with Marcus I have lost 2% body fat and gained 3 lbs. of muscle. I am impressed with his passion for working out and his knowledge of nutrition. In every workout session Marcus always encourages and motivates me to train harder and try new exercises. Marcus inspires me and has helped me so much in working out not only harder, but smarter and eating healthier. I am a much happier person inside and out as I get closer to achieving my goals and I couldn’t have done it without Marcus beside me.
I started training because I was very self conscious with my fitness abilities, and overall health. I Wanted a personal approach to improving my fitness abilities, and to become better in gym class (4th grade.) I feel that I am a lot stronger since I first started. Not only stronger, but it’s built my self esteem much higher than it was when I began training. I continue to work with Marcus because I feel that I still need more improvement, and I know that this is a good way to do it.
My goal has been not to gain weight, and overall improve my health. On top of our strength workouts, I am now currently training for a 5k race. Historically, I have lacked consistency. Scheduling the workouts to come to my house prior to personal responsibilities has eliminated the major excuses. Due to surgery, my left side was weaker, however, we have increased the strength significantly using balanced workouts. I like that Marcus continues to push me beyond my perceived strengths.
Marcus is an amazing trainer and coach. We have been working out with him for over 2 years now, and we are really happy with the results. He is focused and inspirational. He is a wealth of information on physical and mental health and truly provides a 360 degree view of wellness. He is also flexible on time and is able to work out with us in our home in the night time when we are both free. He keeps workouts interesting and mixes up the exercises so we get a great full body workout - from weights to kickboxing. We have lost a combined total of 50 lbs!

Marcus is a NASM and NPTI certified Personal Trainer, having over 8 years worth of experience within the fitness industry. He attended the National Personal Training Institute to receive his first certification, where he learned the science behind exercise and nutritional needs of what it takes to change the human body.
Marcus also has been certified through the Higher Brain Living program, an advanced meditation technique proven to energize the prefrontal cortex. The highest layer of the brain, and same area associated with confidence, clarity, memory, decision making, and relaxation. Later Throughout his career Marcus has helped a variety of clients with such needs as weight loss, body fat reduction, stress reduction, muscle gain, sports performance, and postural re-alignment.
Shortly after his training career began he went on to study martial arts where he adapted the lifestyle and training philosophy of not only training to become healthier physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Marcus has taught a variety of classes ranging from bootcamp, cardio, weightlifting, and kickboxing being his favorite. He also enjoys the individualized attention and personal approach through one on one training. His passion for knowledge and exercise has him constantly learning, and staying up to date on what will give his clients the best results.

I spent most of my early childhood and teenage years being obese. As a 3 sport athlete of football, basketball, and track, I was always interested in researching ways I can train my body to become more athletic and be in better shape. In the early internet days, this lead me into a deep rabbit hole of exersice science, anatomy, nutrition, all the things I could stuydy and implement to give me a competitive edge.
During this phase and wanting to change my own body and life, I developed a love for the human body and its many capabilites that it possess. I knew then that if I didn't meet my professional athletic goals, that I would love to coach others to help them reach their's as a career.
Since beginning my career I had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients who wanted to change their health to improve their overall quality of life, and not neccassarily athletic goals. This developed my new passion and found purpose in life in wanting to guide others to becoming the best versions of themselves through health and fitness.
We've helped a variety of clients from 9 years old- 86 years. Indidviduals looking for Weightloss, Toning, Sports training, Muscle Building, Postural re-alignment, mindfulness, meditation, vitality of health, and nutrition guidance is who we help the most, and thrive with their results.
Recently I am most proud of a younger client (10 years old) I trained initially for weightloss, but during the process we realized they suffered from anxiety and depression resulting in low confidence, and sleepless nights. Through exercise, and meditation he's shown a whole new confidence, outlook on life, and the weight dropped off of course. With Body and Beyond, we dont just focus on the numbers, but improvement on quality in all health aspects of an individuals life.
Make sure that your trainer is not only educated, but experienced as well with working with your population successfully. Spending most of my career in big box jumps, I've seen a variety of good and bad trainers, with the biggest difference being the bad trainers provided no roadmap or step by step system to follow for results. Make sure whoever you consider to hire can map out a fully flushed gameplan long or short term that will produce results.
