About
I am able to tailor lessons to the ability and learning style of all players regardless of their age or skill level (youth, high school, & college). I am progressive and extremely forward thinking in my instructional methods basing my training techniques on sports science and exercise science opposed to conventional wisdom. I utilize high speed digital motion analysis to teach proper bodily sequence and mechanics as well as biomechanics to maximize a players overall physical and athletic ability.

My son and daughter have been consistently getting lessons from Rob the past two years and I highly recommended him to anyone looking for a hitting instructor (baseball and fast pitch softball) and pitching (baseball). I can’t say enough good things about Rob and am extremely happy with the work he has done with my kids.

Coach Rob has been working with my son who’s a Freshman in High School for the past four years. My son and I can’t say enough about how much Coach Rob has helped him improve as both a hitter and pitcher.

Coach Rob came highly recommended by a family that is on the same travel team as my son who gives lessons to their two children. Coach Rob is very easy to deal with and schedule lessons. My son has benefited greatly from working with Coach Rob. His hitting and throwing has improved greatly and is playing with way more confidence then before!

I can’t say enough good things about Coach Rob. He has really helped my son who’s a sophomore in HS with his pitching. In the short period of time my son has been working with Coach Rob he has gone from topping out at 70 MPH to 74 MPH. Coach Rob has also implemented a work out program for him to follow as well that has helped tremendously.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the first lesson I like to talk with the student and find out what areas they feel they do well in what areas the think they can improve in. I watch them throw/pitch, hit, field, catch, etc. and video tape them so they can visually see how their body moves and works in space. We identify what is good and what needs work. I compare their video to a professional player so they can see how their bodies work so the student can see the difference between what a professional player looks like opposed to an amateur player. I come up with an improvement plan consisting of various drills, instructional videos and works outs to help improve areas of weakness.

Pricing on lessons vary
How did you get started teaching?
When I was in high school working with my siblings and helping out with their teams. I started coaching and giving lessons in college and have continued to grow in terms of seeking out various ways to improve as an instructor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all different backgrounds and skill levels. Tee ball through college.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really enjoy having the opportunity to go see the games of players I work with.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your own research and don't be persuaded to hire an instructor with the most accomplished background as a player. Look for someone who has a proven track record of success of developing athletes and maximizing their potential.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students need to ask themselves what exactly they are looking to get out of taking lessons. How good they want to become all depends on how much time you they are willing to devote to practicing and doing the things they need to do in order to get better.
