My husband and I have used Tobi Kerns as a personal trainer for over 17 years and we would give him our highest recommendation. Tobi is a very versatile trainer who creates workouts that are tailored to your needs and goals. He has customized our workouts based on our specific preferences: developing core strength and flexibility, overcoming an injury, increasing our endurance for cycling and/or running, helping my husband prepare for the upcoming ski season, etc. We started with Tobi before we got married, and he helped get us in shape for our wedding. Then after I had children, he helped me lose some weight and get back into shape. My husband had a lingering rotator cuff injury from his high school sports days (wrestling), and Tobi helped him build his upper body strength and overall flexibility to rehab and overcome the injury once and for all. I have been dealing with a chronic back issue, and he is very careful to ensure that every exercise is safe. Recently, I've started having knee issues re-emerge from an old injury, and Tobi is helping me strengthen key areas to help me overcome this so I don't have to give up cycling (which I love!). Now Tobi is also training our teenage daughter to help build core strength for her rock climbing. Tobi comes to our house and goes out of his way to accommodate changes in our schedule. How and what do they desire to focus on? Is this focusing on what the coach/trainer offering and able to coach/train them to do? Do they really desire to "work" for their results?
