What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out what your goals are, and what your physical limitations may be, so we can set up an instruction plan that is tailored around you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Multiple Martial Arts Certifications. Self Defense instructor. former Fed, Former LE, Combat Vet.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are only $60 an hour, up to two people. Minimum one hour per lesson for private lessons. Semi-private lessons, coat can be split up to four students. That's is only $15 an hour if four people join.
How did you get started teaching?
I was in the United States Army Infantry. I took my experience with Close Quarters Combat, and continued to build on my education in Martial arts after walking with a cane for six years. I lost over 42 lbs, and have not walked with a cane for over 5 years, after creating my own diet and rehabilitation program.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children, Women, Men, and Military.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a five inch fracture across my face, and still completed the last two days of my Krav Maga Instructor Certification. Ultimately, taking a 6 hour test with a fractured face, and passing my instructor exam.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check the lineage of the instructors they were taught from.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? Self defense, professional fighting, physical fitness, etc. You need to know your goals, and confirm that your instructor understands your needs.
