Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Whether you are taking lessons for fun or developing a skill I can offer a general variety course of lessons covering basic to advanced painting in oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints or if you would like to choose one type of medium to focus on. If you are interested in taking one or two lessons for a fun date with a significant other or one or two lessons with your friends or family members, we can set a date for a specific type of paint, printmaking, or drawing class of your choice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor's in fine arts from Herron school of art and design and have been working as an independent artist for over 10 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach beginners to advanced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The first lesson is an introductory lesson. I will go over some of the basics while we make a plan for what you want to get out of your lessons. I'll provide any materials we need for the first lesson and give you some options for materials you will need in the future. In my lessons you will learn how to mix colors, choose pallets, and learn many useful techniques.
